The Government of Aragon presents the LIFE SURFING Project for the dense residues of the lindane manufacturing
The Government of Aragon presented yesterday at the Ordesa hall of the Pigatelli building the new Project called “LIFE SURFING”, for the elimination of the lindane waste. The objective of this LIFE is to test in the field a series of techniques to eliminate the dense residues adhered to the rock fractures.
The project has a 2.1 million euros budget. The cofinancing of the European Union to the Project is 57% and the contribution of the Government of Aragon, 570.836 euros. The duration of the Project is four years, from 2019 to 2022.
At the technical presentations the used methodology was explained to the attendees. The liquid dense residues were only produced during the operation period of the lindane factory and were coming from the distillation tails of the end of the production process and from the emptying of the facility in case of breakage.
